Stratos Kalafatis
Lia Nalbantidou

02-06 August 2021

About the workshop

A 5-day workshop that will be conducted by Greek photographers Stratos Kalafatis and Lia Nalbantidou. Lia and Stratos live in Thessaloniki. They work together and apart, however, always side by side. “As a couple working in photography in the last 3 decades, we are eager to share our experiences of how to develop one’s work and personal vision.” Participants will be introduced to each photographer’s work and methodology. They will be encouraged to produce new images and/or a new body of work. Particular attention will be paid on how new experiences may enrich their creative processes. Through discussion and group critiques, we will attempt to develop participants’ critical thinking in relation to their own photography. The dynamic of the working group will be an essential component of the teaching approach. The workshop aims to enrich participants creative processes, develop their photographic vocabulary, articulate their own visual voice and strengthen their community skills at large. This workshop is a special opportunity of Lia and Stratos teaching together, under August sun and through meltemia, the southern winds of the Aegean.
